Orlando Auto AC Repair Center

In Orlando, many people consider their car air conditioning the most important system in their vehicle. At The Car Spa, our automotive repair technicians know how to keep your auto a/c blowing cool air all year long.

How Do You Know When Your Car's A/C Is Not Working?

Your car should always feel comfortable

Even on the hottest Orlando day, it should only take a few minutes for your vehicle's air conditioning system to cool down your car. A strong auto AC should be able to make the cabin temperature 30 to 40 degrees cooler than the air outside, so you should always fee comfortable. If at any time you feel the air from your car's air conditioner is not cool enough, it's time to have the AC serviced.

Operating on a Low A/C Charge

Running on a low charge could damage your compressor

Your car air conditioner compressor requires an adequate charge of auto air refrigerants to run properly. A low air conditioning charge will put extra strain on your compressor (which has to work overtime), and that could lead to your air conditioning compressor to fail. So if your air is blowing warm, it's not just a matter of comfort, waiting to get service could cost you more money in the long term.

How Often Should I have a Mechanic Check my Auto Air?

Routine auto air maintenance is key

For most cars, the refrigerant charge in the auto air conditioner starts running low after about four years. Your auto a/c repair technician will be able to check the charge and recharge you car AC if necessary.

Spotting Refrigerant Leaks in your Car's AC system

Don't use A/C Leak Sealers

If a new charge only lasts a few months, chances are you have a refrigerant leak in your car airconditioning system. Leaks can be difficult to detect. At The Car Spa, our auto air conditioner repair technicians will add a special dye to your AC cooling system so we can spot leaks. Please do not use over-the-counter AC sealers: they can gum up your system causing further damage to your vehicle's air conditioner, and it will damage your mechanic's auto air repair equipment.

Does Your Car Smell Musty?

The problem is probably in you're A/C Evaporator

If you smell mold or mildew when you run your car's air conditioner, you may have some growth in your evaporator. The first step to avoiding this problem is to keep you car clean, especially the floor in the driver's and passenger's seat: this is where the AC system draws the air in to cool.

Automobile AC Evaporator Replacement

Why can it be so expensive

Your a/c evaporator is right behind the dashboard on your car. Some auto manufacturers have engineered their cars so that your mechanic has easy access to the evaporator. Other carmakers, however, have built the evaporator into the car, and gaining access to it requires dismantling the dashboard. The extra time and labor ads up, and that's what can make car ac evaporator repair more expensive.

Mike Says:

Always run your car's air conditioner

The most delicate part of you auto air system is the evaporator. If you go long periods with out running your car air conditioning, the refrigerant can combine with oil and moisture in your system and create a corrosive acid that will eat through your evaporator. If you constantly run the AC, those elements won't have time to combine. So in the winter months, keep the air conditioner on, and just set the thermostat higher.
